Spinning teeth in gums, like screws. Twist. Twist. The small suck heard only inside that head. Felt only inside that head. I release my fingers of index and thumb from around this tooth. They spread and the tooth falls. That throat catches the tooth.
My phone rings. To the choking head I say, Shh. To the phone I say, Hello! My love! Yes, I'll be home as soon as I finish with this one. Okay. The bloodshot eyes look to mine from their red coughing face. I love you too, goodbye.
This wedding ring presses into that pleading eye. My hand tips the coughing body to the floor. That body wrapped thirty times in duct tape falls like a chair. Quiet. Until that head makes the sound of a Casaba melon falling in the kitchen.
One scream. One smile. I will be home soon, my love.
